Teacher Selling Websites

Have you thought about selling on a teacher website?  Well, here is my take on it:

I joined TeacherspayTeachers and have had some success, but I think that being charged 40% plus a $0.30 transaction fee is a little ridiculous.  The website ends up taking about 50% of my earnings!  I try to keep the price of the items I make as cheap as possible, so that all educators are able to purchase the item for a reasonable price. I in turn make almost nothing.

So, I researched and found another site.  Teachers Notebook.  On this site it is $20.00 for the year and the seller gets to keep 100% of their earnings minus the paypal fees, which are miniscule.  I think this website is a much better site to post your teacher items.  Why should a site like teacherspayteachers earn half of my earnings, when I worked very hard to make my items.  I will stay with teacherspayteachers, since any money earned is better than none, but from now on i will be trying to promote my teachers notebook store.

I hope this post helps you decide which teaching site is best to go to sell and buy products.  I would much rather support a teacher 100% than give 50% to a website that makes millions.

What Does the Fox Say?

Who knows what the fox actually says? Maybe you can ask him while making this adorable fox craftivity!  I came up with the idea to create the best bulletin board collaboration!  I had to get rid of my winter bulletin boards because  I was sick of snow and cold and very ready for spring and warm weather.   With warmer weather and spring come baby animals, which includes one of my favorite animals... the fox!  Baby foxes are the cutest ever!   Since March is all about Reading, I mashed a bunch of idea together and came up with some pretty cool bulletin boards. First, I drew Fox in Socks!  Then I had my class create foxes and thought of two rhyming words to put on the fox! I also created a clothesline that is hanging pairs of rhyming socks!  Result = the best bulletin board ever! My kids love this craft year after year! This year I created a different bulletin board!  I have also been moved to 3rd grade and have adapted these foxes

SPACE THEME CLASSROOM

Welcome to my SPACE Theme Classroom!  Check out our workspace    Binder clips with students names for mailboxes Each year I print out labels with each students name to make it easy to label anything I may need throughout the year, including: mailboxes, binders, folders, name tags, etc. Get the Space Label Freebie HERE      Astronaut JOB Chart and Flow of the Day Find the Schedule cards  HERE      I use these great folder hangers to hold my student portfolios.  These are perfect to quickly file items I would like to keep for each students.  When it is time for conferences, I can quickly pull out each students folder to show to the parents.  Mission Control    Space theme calendar numbers can be found HERE

Safari / Jungle Theme

This year I will be using a Jungle/Safari theme in my classroom!  I cannot wait!  Last year, I was a maternity leave replacement in Kindergarten and did a rainforest theme!  The room came out extremely cute!  I cant wait to even make it better this year, since this will be my own classroom! Che ck out my other post on a J ungle theme classro om HERE . Last year in my rainforest classroom, I had some really great touches which added character to the room!  I really went over the top and the parents and students loved it!  My welcome board The Jungle / Safari bodies can now be found  HERE due to popular demand. I found the large safari hat at AC Moore.  It is made of foam and is easy to staple up. The tree was made from a large carpet tube and brown paper bags.  I went to Home Depot and asked if they had any carpet tubes.  They are usually glad to give you any they have! Then i just slid the brown paper bags over it one by one in an overlapping pattern.  My Job
