What Does the Fox Say?

Image
Who knows what the fox actually says? Maybe you can ask him while making this adorable fox craftivity!  I came up with the idea to create the best bulletin board collaboration!  I had to get rid of my winter bulletin boards because  I was sick of snow and cold and very ready for spring and warm weather.   With warmer weather and spring come baby animals, which includes one of my favorite animals... the fox!  Baby foxes are the cutest ever!   Since March is all about Reading, I mashed a bunch of idea together and came up with some pretty cool bulletin boards. First, I drew Fox in Socks!  Then I had my class create foxes and thought of two rhyming words to put on the fox! I also created a clothesline that is hanging pairs of rhyming socks!  Result = the best bulletin board ever! My kids love this craft year after year! This year I created a different bulletin board!  I have als...

100 Days of School = 100 Days of Fun!!

Image
We just celebrated our 100th day and boy was it fun!  My kindergarten class was so excited to have been in school for 100 days!   ( writing our name as many times as we can in 100 seconds) Prior to the 100th day, each student and their families created their own 100 day posters at home.  Students creatively pasted 100 objects on posters to create their 100th day display.  Our displays ranged from 100 pom-poms to create a minion, 100 Swedish fish to create the Superman symbol, and a completed 100 piece puzzle.  On the 100th day, our class completed many different activities to celebrate including: taking 100 steps around the school, counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's to 100, writing their name as many times as they could in 100 seconds, and transforming their faces to 100 year old faces.   The class also enjoyed 100th day cupcakes, sang 100th day songs, and read 100th day books.   Overall, students practiced counting to 100 many times throughout the da...

Sight Word Spinner Game

Image
Today I introduced my class to my new TPT product and it was a HUGE success!    Students practiced their sight words by play the sight word spinner game. Each student recieved a spinner sheet, a paper clip, and a graph sheet.  Students placed the paper clip around the tip of a pencil to create a spinner. The kids spun the paper clip and landed on one of the 6 sight words.  Students then read the word they spun and colored a block on the bar graph sheet for that word. The game continued until one column was filled.  We played this game during center time and my kindergarteners did a FABULOUS job playing independently! Snag your copy of the sight word spinner game at my TPT store: www.teacherspayteachers/store/kinderkuties Or use the direct link:  http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Sight-Word-Spin-and-Graph-ALL-50-Dolch-Pre-Primer-and-Primer This set includes ALL 50 dolce primer and pre-primer words!!
